Experience and relive the past through an exciting field trip with Pioneer Trails Adventures.  We offer field trip packages custom designed to fit individual requests.  We feel it is important that teachers have the opportunity to help students learn of America’s great past to assist them in preparing to lead our great nation into the future.

As we enter the 21st Century let us honor the struggles and victories of the pioneers of the past. Let us help you meet your State and District objectives, come learn how to be an over-comer of today’s struggles with a no-quit attitude like what the pioneers had.

Students traveling in an authentic covered wagon to and from interactive historical sites will not only learn, but experience part of our nation’s history. After visiting tour sites, the covered wagon will take students to a pioneer campsite where they will have lunch in true pioneer style.

We cover several areas of interest:

Pioneer Heritage- See and experience the starting place of the Santa Fe, California, and Oregon trails. Pioneer history is explored with specific attention to the preparation for the journey west and the responsibility of each member on the wagon train.

Civil War History- With the exception of Virginia and Tennessee, Missouri had more battles than any other state during the Civil War. Travel the battlefields in a covered wagon. Hear the history of Order #11, Quantrell, the James brothers, Cole Younger, and more; great for all ages, especially students working on their Missouri Notebook.

Truman History- Visit the place where young Harry Truman had his first job. Sit in the courtroom where he held court. See an interesting video detailing parts of the Truman family life. See the controversial statue that some think is inappropriate.

Prices range from $7.00 to $16.00 per person, depending on the sites chosen. Some of the sites available to choose from are listed below:

National Frontier Trails Center Truman Video at Truman Ticket Office
1859 Jail, Marshals Home & Museum Truman Library
1827 Log Courthouse Truman Courthouse
Bingham Waggoner Estate  Puppetry Arts Institute

Along with this great learning experience you will receive one student activity book that students will be able to use to prepare or reinforce the history they’ve just taken part in.  We have assembled activity pages pertinent to all the tour sites as a study reference and guide.  Informative activities include word searches, crossword puzzles, fill-in-the blanks, true or false questions, maps, and craft ideas.

Take your students more in depth than a text book. Take them farther than a movie. Do not miss out on the exciting experience of a pioneer trails adventure! For more detailed information on our adventure trips please feel free to contact us!
